How To Stay Motivated At Home!
Well, we’re officially stuck at home and suddenly our daily routines have become a thing of the past. Between hitting the gym and prepping meals to finishing projects and even getting out of our PJs, a lot of normal tasks can seem hard to accomplish when we’re out of our element. Because it can be really difficult to stay motivated when we encounter big changes to our schedules, here are some tips to create a new normal, to stay motivated and reach your goals!
Start with a morning routine - and keep it going throughout the day!
When it comes to keeping a routine, it’s best to start as soon as you get up. Starting your day on the right foot can get you going and keep you motivated throughout the day. Try to keep a simple morning routine to hit every day, such as making the bed, getting dressed, brushing your teeth, and eating breakfast. Accomplishing some simple tasks in the morning can make you feel like you’re already making your way through your to-do list before you’ve even had to fully wake up.
Once you’ve gotten this down, try to push for a full day schedule. This could include sitting down to work at a certain time every day or scheduling your workout for the same days and times every week.
The TAPfit Online Studio classes are perfect to add to your schedule for the best time for you, or you can plan to attend the 28 Day Live Challenge. Having a plan to follow can help you maintain a new normal in these crazy times.
Write A "To-Do" List
Many of us are trying to stay as productive as possible during our time at home. A great way to do this is to write a to-do list every morning. You can even do this as a part of your morning routine!
Every morning, sit down and list 3-5 things you’d like to get done that day. It might be a virtual workout, a walk outside with your family, finishing something for work, or even cleaning the house. Once you’ve completed a task, make sure you cross it off so you can see your achievements and get started on the next thing
Find A Place To Focus
In our normal routines, we sleep in our beds, eat at the table, work in the office, and exercise at the gym. Now, all of those things seem to be taking place in the same room. It can be very difficult to get into the right mindset when we stay in one place every day.
Something that can help is finding a different spot for work, exercise, eating meals, and relaxing in your home. By having a particular space for each task, you can get yourself in the right mindset without any distractions or other reasons to be there. Try your best to keep them in separate rooms, or at least in different areas of your house. That means no eating in bed!
Leave Time To Relax
During this time of uncertainty, it’s very important for us all to leave room in our routines to relax and have time to process. It’s not helpful to over schedule yourself because you’ll either over-stress yourself or feel very overwhelmed and not want to get anything done at all.
Try to keep your to-do lists and schedule realistic and include time for breaks throughout your day. Try a new hobby, finish that book you still haven’t gotten to, or even go outside for some fresh air. We are in a global pandemic, so don’t be too hard on yourself.
We’re all in this together! By remaining motivated and keeping a plan while we’re in our new normal, we can continue to pursue our goals and stay healthy.
